The Facilities tab allows staff to select which facilities can be used for a batch’s assignments. When creating an assignment batch, staff may select all facilities available or just a subset. Selecting a subset of facilities is useful, for instance, when assigning a particular group or students to specific facilities.
Staff may also control assignments using the Load Balance option for each facility. This option sets the number of assignments for each facility. For instance, the Load Balance option can be used to spread equal numbers of assignments across facilities. However, using the Load Balance option may cause some missed roommate matches because the facility match is of higher importance.
Once facilities are added to the batch facility section, staff can adjust the order in which they are processed when generating assignments.
When selecting facilities for an assignment batch, the following rules apply:
•A facility must be an assignment-level facility for the entire assignment batch date range.
•A facility must be in service for the entire assignment batch date range.
•A patron cannot be assigned directly to a facility that is defined as a Space.
